Un départ aisé sur un large chemin de terre menant au abord d'une propriété privé. Vous passerez un pont offrant une vue magnifique sur la rivière Saco et poursuivrez dans une forêt de feuillus jusqu'au panneau informatif "The Davis Path". De là, le sentier sera plus accidenté par les nombreuses roches le parsemant et vous débuterez la montée soutenue jusqu'au km 3,2 où le trouvera l'intersection pour aller rejoindre le sommet du mont Crawford. Au fil de votre montée, les roches grossiront.
Vous irez à gauche sur "mount Crawford Spur" pour marcher les 300 prochains mètres, au-delà de la limite des arbres, sur une crête magnifique de dalles rocheuses. Quelle vue ! Au sommet, effectuez la courte boucle pour admirez le paysage. Vous pourrez distinguer clairement les présidentielles tels que Washington, Pierce et Eisenhower, ainsi que les monts Carrigain, Nancy, Stairs, Kancamagus, Whiteface et les Tripyramides par exemple.
Vous reviendrez sur vos pas pour retrouver Davis Path pour aller rejoindre l'intersection des monts Stairs et Resolution.
Le sentier prendra une pente progressive sur un sol dur de terre, sans difficulté technique. Le sentier sera étroit et bordé par les conifères. Les adeptes de trail running aimeront cette portion !
À la jonction, vous prendrez à gauche pour le mont Stairs et à droite pour Resolution.
Vers Stairs, vous devez poursuivre sur Davis Path et garderez la gauche à la bifurcation jusqu'au virage sur "Stairs Mtn Spur". Ce sommet a quelques emplacements de campings désignés et des vues au sud, à 180°, s'étendant jusqu'au mont Chocorua.
Vers Resolution, le sentier redevient escarpé et rocheux sur les 800 m. Le sommet du mont Resolution est hors sentier, en montée vers votre gauche et est marqué par un cairn et n'a pas de vue, mais rassurez-vous, il y a aura plusieurs points de vue incroyables au fil de votre ascension vers ce sommet.
C'est à partir de ce point que vous pourriez décider d'effectuer une traversée vers le Mont Parker.
Celui-ci se trouve à environ 3,5 km. Le sentier pour s'y rendre est magnifique. Étroit, variés et dans un magnifique environnement boisé sentant la mousse avec une végétation abondante. Vous effectuerez quelques montées et descentes, avec un arrêt fortement suggéré, après 1 km de marche, vers le Mont Resolution South Knob, moyennant un petit détour de 400m aller-retour. Utilisez une application tel Alltrails pour trouver l'entrée vers ce point de vue car il n'y a aucune indication.
Au sommet de Parker, la vue est belle, sur environ 260°. Le mont Resolution vous paraîtra immense ! Les diverses dalles rocheuses sont parfaites pour s'asseoir et faire une pause.
J'ai adoré cette randonnée ! Je vous suggère fortement de l'effectuer en traversée !

Access : Davis Path Trailhead (Rte 302)
An easy start on a wide dirt road leading to the edge of a private property. You will pass a bridge with great views over the Saco River and continue through hardwood forest to the informative sign "The Davis Path". From there, the path will be more uneven due to the many rocks dotting it and you will begin the sustained climb until km 3.2 where you will find the intersection to reach the summit of Mount Crawford. As you climb, the rocks will get bigger.
You will go left on "mount Crawford Spur" to walk the next 300 yards, past the tree line, on a stunning ridge of rock slabs. What a view ! At the top, make the short loop to admire the landscape. You will be able to clearly distinguish the presidential ones such as Washington, Pierce and Eisenhower, as well as the mountains Carrigain, Nancy, Stairs, Kancamagus, Whiteface and the Tripyramids for example.
You will retrace your steps to find Davis Path to reach the intersection of the Stairs and Resolution mountains.
The path will take a gradual slope on a hard ground, without technical difficulty. The path will be narrow and bordered by conifers. Trail running enthusiasts will love this portion!
At the junction you will take a left for Mount Stairs and a right for Resolution.
To Stairs, you must continue on Davis Path and keep left at the fork until the turn on "Stairs Mtn Spur". This peak has a few designated campsites and 180° southerly views extending to Mount Chocorua.
Towards Resolution, the trail becomes steep and rocky again for 800 m. The summit of Mount Resolution is off trail, uphill to your left and is marked by a cairn and has no views, but rest assured there will be several amazing viewpoints as you climb to this peak .
It is from this point that you could decide to make a crossing towards Mount Parker.
This is about 3.5 km away. The path to get there is beautiful. Narrow, varied and in a beautiful moss-smelling wooded environment with abundant vegetation. You will make some climbs and descents, with a strongly suggested stop, after 1 km of walking, towards Mount Resolution South Knob, with a small detour of 400m round trip. Use an app like Alltrails to find the entrance to this viewpoint as there are no signs.
At the top of Parker, the view is beautiful, about 260°. Mount Resolution will seem huge to you ! The various rock slabs are perfect for sitting down and taking a break.
I loved this hike ! I strongly suggest you do it while crossing !
