Accès : Stationnement du Bear Den Lodge. L'entrée du sentier est situé du côté Nord du parking.
Il s'agit d'une randonnée linéaire de 5,5 km (2,25 miles) sur sentier de terre battue orné de roches et de racines, avec quelques portions boueuse. Certaines portions sont difficiles suivre en raison d'un balisage absent par endroit. Le sentier longe la colline et un ruisseau sous un couvert forestier de feuillus. Après 800 m (0,5 mile) plutôt plats, le Bear Den Mountain Trail tourne à gauche (pancarte). À partir de ce point, le sentier poursuit une montée assez facile mais deviendra plus abrupte et le restera sur les 1,8 km suivants jusqu'à la crête.
Vous vous dirigerez alors sur la gauche, en restant sous les arbres avant de vous aventurer sur un rebord rocheux ouvert avec une vue imprenable sur Whiteface et vous verrez également que votre ascension n'est pas terminée. En partant du col, vous resterez à nouveau dans les arbres et commencerez une montée beaucoup plus raide avec des portions rocheuses gravir sur environ 200 m.
Profitez bien de cette vue et du vaste cap rocheux, c'est magnifique !

Access : Bear Den Lodge parking lot. The trail entrance is located on the north side of the parking lot.
This is a 5.5 km (2.25 mile) linear hike on dirt trail with rocks and roots, with some muddy sections. Some portions are difficult to follow due to missing markings in places. The trail follows the hill and a creek under a hardwood canopy. After 800 m (0.5 mile) rather flat, the Bear Den Mountain Trail turns left (sign). From this point the trail continues a fairly easy climb but will become steeper and remain so for the next 1.8 km to the ridge.
You will then head left, staying under the trees before venturing out to an open rock ledge with stunning views of Whiteface and also see that your ascent is not complete. Starting from the pass you will again stay in the trees and start a much steeper climb with rocky portions climbing for about 200m.
Take advantage of this view and the vast rocky cape, it's magnificent!
