Altitude de 745 m.
Randonnée linéaire de 4.3km. D+ 250 m. Niveau : facile à intermédiaire.
Accès : State Park Hwy 9N (bord de la route). Même en hiver.
Cette randonnée est près de de celle menant à Hurricane Mtn, ce qui peut en faire un combo intéressant.
La randonnée pour Baxter est courte et populaire auprès des familles car elle permet d'atteindre rapidement un point de vue rapide magnifique. Le sentier est large et traverse une forêt mixte en effectuant des lacets sur le premier km. Le sentier se rétrécira ensuite pour monter un peu plus abruptement jusqu'à un panneau d'indication. Aucune difficulté techniques si ce n'est que de franchir quelques roches et racines exposées. Poursuivez vers Baxter Mtn en suivant les marqueurs bleus cloués aux arbres pour atteindre le faux sommet offrant un magnifique point de vue. Il vous faudra poursuivre environ 200 m en forêt, soit une légère descente et remontée, pour atteindre le vrai sommet boisé (aucune indication).
Le retour se fait par le même sentier.

This hike is close to the one to Hurricane Mtn, which can make an interesting combo.
The hike to Baxter is short and popular with families, as it allows you to quickly reach a magnificent fast viewpoint. The trail is wide, winding through mixed forest for the first km. The trail then narrows and climbs a little steeper to a signpost. There are no technical difficulties, apart from a few exposed rocks and roots. Continue towards Baxter Mtn following the blue markers nailed to the trees to reach the false summit offering a magnificent view. You'll need to continue for another 200 m or so through the forest, a slight descent and ascent, to reach the real wooded summit (no signs).
Return along the same path.
